An Ode to the FoulBowel

The Foul Bowel isn’t a doctor-written Crohn’s encyclopedia nor a ‘woe-is-me’ catalogue of misery.

The Foul bowel is for anyone new to Crohn’s disease or a veteran.  Funny, charming and a fantastic positive perspective that anyone with Crohn’s disease can appreciate.

After personally suffering 20+ plus years with the painful symptoms of Crohn’s disease I found myself wishing I had had this book so many years ago so that I could have asked the right questions and gotten the best care possible.

It is refreshing and interesting to be able to relate to someone and to understand regardless of country origin. It was intriguing to learn how other countries deal with Crohn’s disease and yet still relate to a person struggling with this vicious and ugly disease.

The illustrations are brilliant and loved the way they grew old right along with the author. I have ripped a couple out and tacked them onto my wall as a reminder that we have a choice; we can either go into this with a great sense of humour or become a victim of circumstances.

John Bradley has definitely defied all laws and battled back with his quick wit and positive pragmatic outlook on all areas of his life.

Laugh, cry and talk back to a book are exactly what I did. John has the uncanny ability to write his accounts in a passionate and witty sense that found me unable to put this book down.

I consult with clients on a daily basis with digestive disorders and John’s book is my number one recommendation.  Whether you are new to Crohn’s disease, a veteran or a care giver to a loved one touched by Crohn’s Disease you need to pick up a copy and indulge in the life of John Bradley’s struggles and triumphs.
